Exciting Exhibition Ends

With the exhibition at Keysham Library ending, I wanted to write a bit more about the lovely feedback and experience I had.
Contacting and getting a space to exhibit was fun and easy to do. If you are a fellow artist, have a look online to see what your local library have to offer.
My exhibition coincided with the Festival of Libraries which worked out well for me as it meant my work was included in promotional leaflets and the exhibition would get more footfall.

My artwork was on display for a month and I spent a day as an 'artist in residence' at the library. I was overwhelmed by the lovely comments I received. I decided to leave a notebook asking the general public for feedback on the work I chose to exhibit and I was really happy I did this. There are several pages of kind words and feedback about my artwork which is reassuring and I am grateful to all that travelled to see the exhibition.

What have I learnt from exhibiting?
My main takeaway from exhibiting has been to invest in frames to display my work. I used cardboard and foam to create budget friendly black mounts for my prints but this ended up with several sessions of having to re-stick parts of the card to the prints during the exhibition. In hindsight, frames would have been more feasible and less hassle.

Do I plan on exhibiting again?
I do! This was a great first exhibition experience and I would love to do this again. It’s very weird seeing your own work on display but it is heart-warming to see people in person enjoy what you create and for the chance to explain your creative process
